Busted — figuratively AND literally! A curvaceous Spanish model arriving from Sao Paulo was arrested at Rome Fiumicino Airport after border police discovered she was smuggling cocaine — in her breast and butt implants, reports the Straits Times. Her suspicious behavior alerted police and female officers discovered the drugs during a strip search.
He could have been busted. Rapper Freddie Gibbs got a pass from an unidentified Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screener who found marijuana in the performer’s bag and wrote “C’mon son” on a bag inspection car, reports Forbes. Gibbs used his Twitter account to post a photo of his weed and the TSA note.
Guns and knives and airports don’t mix, kids! Michael Rinehart was arrested at Elmira-Corning Regional Airport after TSA screeners found a .38-caliber revolver, a 9-inch knife and a utility knife in his carry-on bag, reports the Wall Street Journal. No surprise here — he says he forgot the weapons were in his bag.
TSA screeners not screening? TSA has fired four screeners and another 16 are facing the chopping block at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport after failing to search bags properly, reports the Charlotte Observer. The issues were discovered during an audit in June.
Leave the gaudy Christmas sweater at home, kids. TSA is warning travelers to either pack their high-tech and gaudy holiday sweaters or leave them at home or face extra screening at the airport, reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The sweaters are causing metal detectors to go off.
